If I was a Democrat: Say that my candidate is for one side of an issue in one speech and then against it in the next. That makes sure you can get voters on both sides of an issue to vote for you.

If I was a Republican: Point out the fact that a candidate can't be on both sides of an issue.

But since I'm an Moderate Independent: cry into my drink saying why can't the wingers just elect a Moderate once please.

Well I'm more of a Kerry detractor than a Bush supporter.  I'm not crazy about Bush.

If I were Kerry I would simply hammer home the deficit for the domestic agenda.

I would let Lord Vader use the force to choke out all the competition, ushering in a new era of dominance by the Sith Lord.

By the by, have you seen a pair of droids?

If it does not show, that is because Verizon web has been down most of the day, I think I do better when I don't host the pictures, but heck it was an original edited picture by myself (though the elements in the picture are not mine, but belong to their perpesctive owners yadda yadda).

Oh well...C'est La Vie

That's what I thought before last night too. But after doing quick calculation in my own head, Kerry just wants to stop the 89 billion dollar tax cut to the rich and cut off loopholes. That 89 billion comes no where near the price of the War alone, not counting all the other promises he is offering.

Second the president can't cut off the loopholes, because Congress controls those through their acts and Bills. Do you really think even if he could get past the lobbyist, he could get a Republican held Congress to agree? Also, there will always be loopholes some accountant will always find one. It's not good to hammer on something you yourself can not deliver.

Ya, I think your right. Good point. It don't matter it he can deliver, just that he can make the other person look guilty.

My plan to win the race.. does this mean if I were Kerry what would I do, or if I were running for president what my platform would be. I would be happy to provide both, but because of the obvious time it would take, I would like to know what you want to hear.

My original question was geared towards what the JU users platform would be Thanks for asking me to clarify

How to run the country better than the alternatives. Definitely leading the way would be The War in Iraq. I would have to say what needs to occur there is security. Right now the insurgency is running rampant and that is causing reconstruction to slow to a crawl. You need to go in there decidedly and to achieve victory over insurgency. I would look at the different groups that were involved in it and see what could be done to negotiate with the factions that are reasonable. Reasonable being the ones that aren’t driven to eradicate the foreigners and ready to commit to Jihad. AL Sadir comes to mind in that group. Use diplomacy with the groups that are willing to cooperate with the new government.

Next step would be to hasten the reconstructive efforts. Make Hailburten work and impose strict time limits and bonuses if they are able to complete things early. I feel that if you win over the Iraqi people’s hearts and minds you will seriously take away the insurgency’s popularity. Make that new government that is being voted into power work. Make sure that the people have jobs and have tasks at hand to complete. Make sure they are paid a fair wage and services are available. Avoid inciting the population and make their country strengthened by improving their hospitals and education.

On the domestic end, restore fiscal responsibility and deficit reduction. Knowing that I would be a wartime president and I would inherit a weakened economy make budget adjustments and allocation differences. This will be done by putting priority issues that are important and make sure the proper funds are available. The War in Iraq and the War on Terror. Make sure that our troops have the resources available to them and to make sure that we are able to maintain security at home.

Overhaul our Heath System. Right now the HMO plan is not working. Premiums keep rising and the overall quality of coverage is decreasing. Find out the root causes of these premiums and put a cap on them. What is causing the expenses to increase? Is it Pharmaceutical Companies overcharging the customer? Put caps upon how much a drug can be charged for. Yes it’s interfering in the free-market economy but Heath Care needs greater amounts of regulation if they are unable to have free competition to keep prices lower. Eliminate the laws that does not allow generic drugs to compete. Open up the market to allow other countries drugs to be imported if they are cheaper, and provide F.D.A. assurance the drugs are safe. If it is lawsuits, then revamp the allowance of lawyers to be able to sue and eliminate frivolous lawsuits. By holding the lawyers and the law firms responsible you will be able to eliminate the lets get rich plans of lawyers upon your backs. Finally examine the costs of malpractice to see if it is in line with the current market. Again caps maybe necessary until alignment can occur.

These are a few issues I would address if I was the president. Thank you.

If I was the democrats I would have focussed on a single word. Trust.

You do you trust?

Then i would have chosen a candidate that inspired people to trust them and focussed on all the broken promises with particular emphasis on what my trustworthy candidate would do instead.

If I was Bush I don't think I would have changed much. Probably been a bit more contrite about failures, admitting them and telling people how those failures would be overcome.

Cough, Cough, sputter, sputter, darn drink going down wrong way as I read this.

I have not trusted the Democratic Party since the last election. As for trusting Kerry? I would if he ever could tell the truth, but if he did I'm sure he would change that the next week saying he misquoted or it was really meant to be in a different context (that's the latest line on how he can be on both sides of an issue).

As for Bush, I may not believe every word he says. But when he says he will do something, you know he will at least try.

I think using the word trust by either party only helps thoses who are already voting for their Party. Any of the informed non-desideds already knows both party are full of S**t when they use that word. (Read my lips..... , I did not have sexual relations....., I promiss you I will not raise your taxes...., ect...)

Note that I said I would then choose a candidate who inspired trust.

I really believe that if either party ever managed to field a candidate who people trusted, an election would be a one sided race. Nobody trusts politicians, so image the positive impact if a candidate actually was honest enough to admit this and campaign on this very issue. Any incumbent president would be in trouble as we all know that they can never keep all the promised they make!
