Homicidal Husbands

Were these men in such fear of responsibility murder was their only choice? Scott Peterson a 31 year old fertilizer salesman was married to his 27 year old wife Laci for 5 1/2 years. The choice of marriage and family he made with Laci were not enough. Scott began an affair with a 29 year old blond massage therapist Amber Frey.

Ms. Frey a working mother of a small child was ignorant to Scott being married his wife 8 1/2 months pregnant until after she was reported missing. During this period Ms. Frey continued to allow Scott to weave his web of deception assisting police in their case against him.

Scott Peterson plays the role of Don Juan as he continues to sweet talk his mistress as the community search for the missing woman. Recorded telephone conversations show Scott's true color's with no mention of his missing pregnant wife he says to Ms. Frey " Our relationship will grow and when it's the right time, slowly it will be very beautiful"

Do you want to be together with me?" she asked him.

"Well, I mean obviously my, you know, my thoughts are that I think that we, you know, would be wonderful together," he replied.

Later he mentioned her toddler daughter: "For the rest of our lives I think we care for each other and Ayianna and you know we could fulfill each other."

Peterson stated they are "95 percent" compatible, but needed to iron out the other five percent of their relationship. Those areas included their views on G~d and children. Frey was an enthusiastic churchgoer and wanted more children. Peterson did not attend church and said he was considering a vasectomy.

Peterson tells Diane Sawyer in an interview his wife was informed of his affair and made peace with it. Sawyer debated the idea of a woman 8 1/2 months pregnant making peace with his infidelity. Scott commented no one knew their relationship.

Laci lovingly beams at her husband in home movies, her eyes tell a story she is happy and 8 1/2 months pregnant with their first child. Not of a woman informed her husband has broken the sanctity of their marriage with infidelity.

Mark Hacking a former mental health orderly faces charges of murdering his wife Lori who was 5 weeks pregnant at the time of death. Lori a 27 year old who worked as brokerage house trading assistant never returned home from a morning jog nor showed up for work this past July according to her husband. Lori embracing their plans to move from Utah to Chapel Hill, N.C., where Mark would be attending the University of North Carolina's Medical School .according to the statements he made to family and friends.
On Friday, July 16, 2004, her last day at work, her coworkers said she left early and in tears after receiving a phone call from a campus official, regarding on campus housing Lori presumably was informed that Mark was not enrolled at the school.

Police allege Hacking killed his wife after she discovered that he had lied to her about being accepted to medical school at the University of North Carolina.

Mark Hacking's brothers told police that he confessed to them that he'd killed her after a fight late in the evening of Sunday, July 18.

Why did these men find deceit leading to murder was their only option?

Is this setting a new precedent for those men that are too emotionally inapt to accept responsibility for their choices?

Their behaviors prior to the murders scream insecurity they felt within them Scott needed validation from a mistress his insecurities lead him to murder, Mark's need for validation from family and friends in regard to his career lead him to murder.

The sadest part about all of this is both of these beautiful women Laci and Lori carried life within them and married these men because they loved them ,it just wasn't enough.

If only these men sought help for their issues and communicated honestly to their spouse they would have realized even their partner has fears it's normal ,something partners support each other through making their bond stronger.

I hate to be a spoil sport, but have either of these men been convicted of anything? A bit hasty, wouldn't you say? This goes beyond suspicion toward assumption. I wouldn't have a problem with you giving these as reasons why you THINK they killed their spouses, but acting like it is a foregone conclusion is kind of unfair. Heresay confessions and a stack of circumstantial evidence aside, most people get to have a jury decide, don't they?

Bakerstreet your absolutely right. I have not been selected to make the legal determination of either of these men's guilt. I have however researched the information/evidence that has been made available to the public. So forgive me for passing on my opinionated judgement of these men who reside in my age group prior to their evenual conviction. I will make sure I save this question for that day so you will be able to state your opinion of their cases. Until that time I wish you a good day.

Just remember the fugative where it really was the one armed man. Still you have to look at the situations closely you can clearly see a motive.

Yes mgosh it was the one armed man in the movie. I ask anyone wishing to make their option known in regard to this review the evidence offered on the court tv website. Please I would really enjoy a debate of the evidence in each of these cases.

Thanks for the replies

Have a good day~!~

Mr peterson is still on trial but I believe that Mr hacking confessed already.
That does not mean that there won't be a trial though.
